The fiction no one wanted

Champions live among us everyday; people we’ve met during the course of our lives. Could it be that the loving mother who made our lunches and sent us to school might well have been an olympic swimmer? Might have been, except she decided to further her education instead.

Perhaps the garbage man with the jaunty swing and the heavy limbs could have been the greatest boxer the world had ever known. Everyone, including himself will never know because he doesn’t have a competitive nature.

And then there are others; people in our societies who go about their days unnoticed, but gifted with abilities beyond human endeavour. For lack of a better word, we call the gifted, “superheroes,” and have written them off as a work of fiction. Be assured; they are real. Alas, so are their counterparts…

I am a writer who never suffers from writer's block. My work is original in concept, thus telling me in both instances that God has gifted me. It is my hope that my work moves others. That those who read, might walk the lonely miles with the heroes; that they laugh and cry with them, and are also warmed by love. But there is also a greater hope. That those who read my work, see God's word in the adventures. More specifically that they find Jesus in the many pages and accept His free gift of salvation, already paid for on the cross.
